i picked up on an '86 corolla with an ok replacement singlecam engine body is perfect and all the thing is theres no real place to get sideways out here(legal or not) (i grip more anyways i guess...) but i recently found a spot for some wangan style top speed racing and i have the resources and time to drop in pretty much any reasonable engine. ive already thought about some of the stuff i could do with 4ag's and 3sg's but im also looking to alternatives like ca's sr's ka's maybe??smalblock all aluminum chevy v6 crate engines....just whatever. it will be built for top speed so keep that in mind. im just posting to get some opinions on what would be a good idea. i know some ppl on here have been to japan and most likely have witnessed some sort of racing...maybe they have some positive input??

of course i would adjust the suspesion and reinforce the chassis in any way necessary i wouldnt neglect anything like that

I've seen both S2000 engines and SR20s in Truenos.. dunno if that helps. hah. I'd say go rent some option, best motoring, hot version, etc.. videos and see what they're packing.. since its such a popular car, its covered a lot and you're bound to see some engine conversions and also footage of how well they do.

yeah it does but dont forget australian 86's came with 3sge which means id only be 1 step away from a 3sgte(yay)! i wouldve asked on club4ag.com but i searched and didnt come up with anything incredibly useful. i would rent option videos but im in the middle of bumfuck mississippi even with the huge asian presence theres still no china town-esque place to go....and the hicks running the blockbusters and movietimes dont stock em....

street imports has engine only for like 1199+shipping they seem pretty good place for engines and such and they can locate stuff if it not listed on the site i think....www.streetimports.com

id go for a junkyard one and rebuild it, that way you get a tranny too, and the motor would be nice and fresh
