S13 SR20 Timing marks on chain never line up with cam gears?????????
So my car drove home one day and didn't start the next morning. In efforts of trying to solve the issue I swapped the cas. But when I had the valve cover off to align the marks on the chain to the cam gears they never lined up. Must have turned the motor over at least 20 times, the light marks on the chain NEVER lined up with the marks on the cam gears.
This motor has been rebuilt about 10k miles ago, so at first I just kinda figured that the chain was put on wrong but still worked correctly, but now that I think about it, wtf? Is there any way to properly hard time a motor whose marks don't line up? Am I missing something? I feel like a retard, I've done cams and head gaskets, and all kinds of stuff on sr's, so I'm not new to them by any means Help!! |

What do the colored links do? Aide installation! For CAS install, you need to be at TDC on compression stroke. You've built an engine before, so that shouldn't be hard. Look up ways too verify timing chain by counting the links or rollers. This has been covered
