Differences Between S13 and S14 Suspension.

To start off, I am not an S owner. I own a Z31 300zx Turbo. I am currently in the process of following a few examples and making some steps of my own to fit S series Coilovers to my Z31.

What I need to know is what are the differences between the two coilover systems? I have searched and read through the faqs, all I can come up with are a few smart ass answers and comments, nothing factual or complete.

I know the S14 rears are taller, but how much taller? Is the mount at the bottom a different design completely or is it just the bushing and sleeve that is different?

The s14 fronts are supposedly larger in diameter, but by how much? Are the fronts any longer or shorter on the S14 vs S13?

If the S14 fronts mount differently, it's not really of any concern to me as I have to fabricate a way for them to mount, what is of concern is the diameter of the damper itself.

The very few people that have attempted this modification to their Z31 have found the S13 Coilovers alot shorter in the back than our tall strut towers would need for a normal ride height. Now while "stock" ride height is not a problem for me, I believe the geometry of the suspension itself would be affected by using shorter dampers, and I would prefer to alleviate this if at all possible. This will also help me match the front and rear better when raising and lowering the car by counting threads.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

the fronts mount the same, the difference is the size of the holes on the spindles and in the struts, s14 uses bigger bolts to mount on.

the only other difference is that on S14 rear coilovers, the lower mount is taller then on s13, so if you want to be lower in rear for s14 use s13 rear bottom brackets.
