Best clutch setup for 500+ HP CA18/KA24 ?

I wonder what is the current situation here?
What is the best single-disc setup for CA18DET/KA24DE (think they are the same)?
I use my car daily and go to drag strip occasionally, so need something comfortable. My current ORC twin-disc is rattling like crazy, is hard to drive and it started to give when hot too...
So what are best options currently? Preferably under 500$

Depends on what you're planning to do, how much power you put down, and a bunch of other stuff.

For oem ka24de, just go with Exedy OEM and Fidanza Flywheel and you're pretty much good to go. Otherwise, if you're old and lazy, Exedy OEM and heavy oem flywheel.

Its on the title...

Personally, for that much HP, stay with the twin plate and just rebuilt it. No single plate will handle that HP and if you get conventional style clutch, you'll hate how fucking stiff it is and will make you wish you had your twins back. Also, I'm not a big fan of ORC clutches, I like OS Giken twin plates better.

You might look into the revised white bunny special setup. The guys that run it seem to like it - holds a good amount of power with like stock pedal feel from my understanding.

chris_240sx, do you mean Competition clutches? What kind of "special setup"?
fliprayzin240sx, I was a bit disappointed with my ORC so don't have much faith in OSGiken too. And it didn't held any better than RPS organic I had before (strange, I know)...

^^^^ I'm with him. I sell the JWT KA24 flywheels with the 350Z Clutch bolt pattern pre drilled and threaded. (along with the alignment dowel holes) and the 250mm clutch friction area. I can sell you the flywheel at a super deal and get you a Competition Clutch, Clutch masters, or ACT clutch of your choice. (RPS 350Z clutch is different and won't work)

I have a KA-T with spec clutch kit stage 3+ that holds up to 500tq, and I had 404hp. It never slipped, it responds awesome and feels perfect for daily also. Very soft.

A twin is suppose to feel like a stock clutch but catch harder. Twin will hold more power compared to a single! an a single will be way worse..

Guys! I need clutch for CA18DET so I cannot use neither KA24 nor RB flywheel
BUT cover plate is supposed to be the same CA18<->KA24 with the exception of 2 dowel pins.
So only option is KA/CA 22x millimiters clutch kit

Maybe, if it's supplied by company named General Motors, not Ogura...
I don't what else to say, ORC Twin was disappointment OK I bought it used with plenty of "meat", but it started slipping after only a year at 340whp AT THE BEST

Thats why I said OS Giken. I've had a single 409D and shit started slipping on a GT3076R. Other than the cool "schwing" start up sound, that clutch was crap. Only reason I went with OS Giken was a buddy was parting out his car and my Os Giken TS2BD was starting to slip and needed a rebuilt. Got a full rebuild for the TS2BD, swapped to a GT3582R turbo, pushed out 500hp on that setup. Ran it for a year and half, parted out the SR, traded the TS2BD SR flywheel for an RB25 flywheel, and is currently running the clutch on my 400hp RB25 right now. Its quiet, handles the power, I dont have a mismatched sized calf muscle and I'll take this clutch over any clutch I've ever driven on in the last 12 yrs.

The white bunny setup is cool but I dont see how that setup can handle 500hp.

Bardabe hooked me up with a JWT 350Z flywheel for KA (bolt and alignment holes are the same, and it fit in my bellhousing) plus a 300ZX JWT Flywheel. Now, the clutch works. Feels stock but designed for the 300ZX so I know it handles the power, and designed right, plus rebuildable. Unless you'd have clearance issues in the CA bellhousing (dunno anything about CAs, just operating on you saying they were similar to KAs), the setup should work for you. At least that's how it was pitched to me.

Come on CA18 have 8-bolt crank and you have only 6 if I'm not mistaken
I would be happy to have larger flywheel

They were in the car when I first got it, so not sure how much miles were on them when I got them first. Was on a Greddy T518Z turbo kit, putting down 350-360 whp, did not start slipping till a year after I got the car. The clutch was then rebuilt after about 6 months from the time I pulled them out in early 09. Went GT3582R summer of 2010 and ran the car pushing 500hp till Mar 2011, put in maybe 20k miles total during that span. Finished my RB25 swap in Oct and been running the clutch hard again since then. I probably got closer to 30k miles on this clutch at this point.
