Project Mu Pads

I'm considering buying these pads for my rear 300zx brake upgrade.
I've never heard of them but from what I can tell (price-wise) they seem pretty good. Does anyone have these? How are they on brake fade and dust? Squealing? Anyone have a comparisons that would be great.

Thanks.

I use them on all my cars, S14 ( full competition car ) , S13 (daily driver) , WRX ( wifes car).

I reccomend B force for street/ track driving , plus really low dust/noise !

Try GT PRO they are Project mu distributor and Levi is a cool guy who'll hook you up!

just FYI, most of the well known japanese brake pad companies offer many different pads for many different applications.
race, street, drift, etc. they all have different ratings and are meant for a certain purpose.

Or you could save the money and just buy some Hawk or Porterfield pads.

They're just as good as Project Mu or Endless, they're just not MaD-TyTE JDm y0, so they cost less.

For street (and light racing) use it's real hard to beat the Porterfield R4S or the Hawk HP+.

Well I have Hawk pads on the front already. And I like them alot except for the brake dust. They're rated at medium. I'm actually leaning more towards the light dust ones cause I hate having to clean off the nasty brown crap from my wheels every other day.

But yeah Hawk pads are the shizzit for performance.

I'm curious, are any of these pad brands adversely affected by cross-drilled/slotted setup rotors?

Last time I checked the Porterfield pads are more expensive and they are not rotor friendly at all, because in most cases the friction material is actually harder than the rotor material. Hawk pads are just as expensive. I get my experience from having worked for AP Racing ( Brake MFG ).

I would say hawk pads are better of two choices but I love the Project Mu "B-Force" Pad for day to day driving + light track day. I think I paid $110 for a front set for Z32 calipers.

Well on eBay the got them for 95.00 shipped for the fronts.

hmmm...I just put my Hawks in about 2 months ago. Funny thing is they leave a black reisdue on the rotor face. I won't come off with rubbing alcohol and I can't use brake cleaner cause I used the G2 custom paint kit for the calipers and I don't want to eat away the paint. So I'm gonna try hand applied brake cleaner, see if that does it.

Strange, the Brembo blanks I had on just a couple weeks ago didn't have the black residue. But my new CD-slotted rotors (no-name brand) have it all the way around. And it looks kinda glazed. I hope it'll come off, looks like crap with the zinc plated rotors all shiny and the face all black.

Porterfields are more expensive than hawks. As for eating through rotors; the R4 (their "race" pad) will eat through rotors with a quickness. It also won't work worth a damn until it gets heated up big-time. The R4S is plenty friendly on rotors (I ran them on my old dodge stealth).

I'm about to switch over to Hawk HP+ pads on my 240, but that's only because I'm getting an awesome deal on them ($70 for a set of new z32 front pads) from my friend who blew up hiz Z :-x
