s14 Kouki to Zenki Conversion
I know it all comes down to personal preference.
A lot of people would go the opposite route and do a zenki to kouki conversion but I hope I'm honestly not the only one who thinks s14 kouki's looks too aggressive and doesn't contrast with the rest of the stock body line. Now you could throw on an aggressive kit and it would contour properly with the headlights and what not. But personally I like the subtle look of a zenki. I just picked up a 97 kouki that needs the front end redone. Everything from fenders, bumper to headlights while working with a tubular front end. So I'm pretty much free on options on which way I could go. It would be cool to keep it original. But since the front's been chopped and tubes were welded it's far from original now lol. So I was considering my original thoughts. I would prefer doing an s14 zenki conversion on my kouki. What I'd like to know. How does the rest of body kits fit on the kouki if buying a zenki kit ? I know kouki made changes after the zenki to add in side skirts and what not. Doubt this would affect any zenki kits from mounting properly. Anyways, opinions and pics welcome if anyone has done something similar as far as zenki kits on a kouki. |

ROTFL!!!! I get my Zenki confused with a Camry all the time!!! lol, I love both S14's , Zenki gotta have the glass headlights in order to look right, and the Kouki man you gotta love those angry eyes lol....

![]() I think the S14a front end flows really good with the S15 and S13, but doesn't really fit in with the stock body-line of the s14. Too masculine for a feminine looking design imho, but then again, I love both koukis and zenkis, if done well. So; |

It will be much more saleable later on as a kouki and it sounds like it's going to cost the same to fix it and paint it all etc. Do whatever you want though; it's your car.

For me since it has a tubular front end from a minor accident. It wouldn't help keeping it a kouki due to that fact. I'll need to mock up headlight brackets and mounts for the headlights which means I could in fact do both kouki and zenki. Just don't feel like having a pair of zenki and kouki fenders laying around to switch out any given day. So like I said it's more personal preference then anything at this point. Was just more or less curious about the fitment of zenki kits on a kouki, so I have my answer lol.

Yea, definitely will go with the glass lights. Can't stand the stock fogged up stock ones or any cheap covers. Just not how I do things lol. Just so many threads of people converting to 13.5 kouki or zenki to kouki. But not vise versa.

I feel the same way, when I first got the car I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get the Kouki but the Zenki lines grew on me. The car is more curvy than anything (look at the lines of the tails and rear overall) and it just matches more. I feel like they changed a lot to accommodate the Kouki headlights. (ex. Kouki Tails) Good luck with the conversion!

You definitely are not alone. The Kouki is a bit too aggressive without a nice kit. I also like the Zenki due to the fact that my Dad has a 86 Fox Body so we both have big arse headlights now. LOL

Seriously though, don't convert. Sell the Kouki for $8K (drift tax) and buy a Zenki for $3.5K! WIN!!

But yea, I like both models of s14. If was given an option between a factory released brand new s14, I'd choose a Kouki without a doubt just because it's a newer produced chassis. But I still think Zenki's are perfect from front to back as far as the styles flow goes. I think it's just a little harder finding a better suiting kit for Zenki over Kouki. It's so easy finding an aggressive Kouki kit lol. |

Type 4 or nothing else. Type S and GT are meh.
What's up with rhdjapan's pricing calculator. I tried changing it to USD awhile ago and it was wayyyyyyyyyyy more expensive then googles price converter from YEN to USD. |
