S13 headlight mod

Anyone have any idea how to go about modding the headlights like this.

NK-RoseBud-Onevia-04 by raskilla, on Flickr

I saw it over at Speedhunters.

THE ROSE BUD: NAGANO KOUBOU'S OTHER ONEVIA - Speedhunters

doesn't look like its a kit.

I'm kinda feeling the look of it.

WOW, that looks terrible. Not one single body part on that front end even remotely lines up with any other part. As for the lights, it looks like the dude just used the stock housings and trimmed stuff. To do it right you would need shorter lights, like the NSX ones.

From the article, it seems like he does this mod after he's had some front end damage, so that's prob why nothing lines up.

I actually just showed this to a customer last night but we were talking about useing the NSX headlights instead, I think i'll make a nice conversion, could even add some plexi to it!

NSX headlights seem pretty expensive.

I might try and find some extra headlights and try it with some 4x6 headlights off ebay.

The headlight cover is cut down as is the bezel. It looks like the bucket and trim were removed all together and the sealed beam housing was somehow affixed to the radiator support. Not a good look IMO. Just do a silvia front or hid projector retrofit some 4x6 housings if you want it to look good.

Actually cutting up your car and making it look shitty is much more of a "bandwagon" decision for a 240sx owner.

Buy a Z31. Cheaper and easier.

I think on that car it looks alright.

Only problem with doing it is (at least on a daily/street car) is aiming the headlight and getting any sort of good headlight distance/visibility.

I do like the Z31 popups. I've never seen a clean conversion to that style though. I've got an extra set of popups so I might try it one day.

Looks good on rosebud. I dunno if anyone else could pull it off. It's custom work using stock components, not a kit you can go buy.
