clutch wont go into gear.

so... my car wont go into gear sometimes.. when i first start it its fine, but if i go in and out about 3 or 4 times it no longer will go into gear. I have an act 6 puck sprung with heavy duty pressure plate, installed a year ago. i just replaced to a new master cylinder, with new braided line to brand new slave cylinder. bled the shit out of it. when it gets hard to get into gear, lets say reverse, it wants to move even with the clutch pedal down all the way. same with first gear, kinda just rolls slightly. my pops says pressure plate. any input?

to tell you how random it is. after bleeding i took off down the street, took about a 8-10 min drive , stop and go with no issues. got home thought everything was good. packed all the tools up, start the car to pull in into the garage, wont go into gear.

Clutch fluid? Changed it. Trans (80/90) fluid was changed about a month ago

It's either the pressure plate or the slave cylinder push rod isn't extending all the way out. Check your pedal range and make sure its within spec (FSM). For heavy duty pressure plates I would recommend the Nismo upgraded slave cylinder which I believe is 13/16".

Does it grind or does it just start to feel like the clutch is just makin the car move. Sounds like the slave cylinder is not disengaging enough though. My buddy had this issue and he used a bolt slightly longer then the pin in his slave and its worked great ever since as it pushed out the slave a little more but allows it to return to normal position when off the clutch

doesn't grind , just once i can finally push it into gear, or put it in first then start it, it does start rolling a bit. i tried a little nut on the end of the slave cylinder to give it "more throw" but didn't help.

i find it hard to believe that im having the same issue with a new slave cylinder but.. i'll keep this in mind.

side note. i've noticed my clutch pedal doesn't have the throw it had before. i used to have alot of movement in the clutch, i no longer have now. as soon as i slightly release the clutch pedal the car moves.

Adjust the screw on the back of the clutch pedal. Look under the dash and adjust it. Mine engages about halfway

^^Adjust the rod going from the MC to the pedal linkage first. Then adjust whatever 'slop' there is out of the pedal. PITA to get to; but easy peasy overall.

When the problem occurs again, have someone press the clutch pedal down while you are underneathe the car to see how the slave is operating.

I hope you didn't buy a slave from AutoZone or Advanced auto. I've never had good luck with them. I always buy Nissan OEM.
