Hydraulic handbrake mounting

I want to get a hydro for my s13 but i'm not sure of the best place to mount it. I've seen people mount them on the side of the center console, but being 6'2" i'm already short on space and i'd hate to have my knee banging into it all the time. I wanted to put it up next to the shifter but there's no place on the trans tunnel to mount. The two places i've narrowed it down to are on the passenger side of the center console, or get a push style and mount it backwards so the cylinder is under the radio and the handle comes out right in front of it, essentially turning into a pull style.
The thing i don't like about each of these is that the passenger side mount is just a little too far away to be convenient, and if i mount it under the radio i'll have to cut a piece out my radio/shifter trim, which is not a huge deal, but i'd prefer to keep it in tact.
Has anyone else done a hydro in an s13 while keeping all the interior in place? I want it vertical mount btw, so i can pull it toward me, not up or push or anything else like that. I'm leaning towards under the radio if no one else had a better place for it. Thanks in advance.

Look at where the pros, rally drivers, etc mount theirs. Between the wheel and the shifter.

Do yours the same.

Yea i understand that but where to actually mount it, like the base of it, is where i'm having a problem. That's where i want it, but i can't see a way to actually get it there
