tension rod

long story short my tension rod doesnt line up on both sides so the bolt is more than half way in but isnt coming out the other side - what should i do, just take of the bolts on the control arm and then put the bolt through the bushing and then bolt down the tension rod to the control arm? can i drive it like this temporarily?? only to school and back which is about a mile, thanks!

lift the front end up, have another jack nearby since you'll probably need it to lift. Have the bolt up at the front at least put through the hole so you'll need to worry bout the rear. once you've done that try using the jack to lift the wheel up or let it drop to where you can match up the two holes for the tension rod. if they're halfway through, try the jack to help them through and maybe give em a lil pursuasion from a rubber mallet.
