KA 5 speed.. Transmission GURUS CHIME IN!
I recently bought a ''rebuilt'' trans from another member.
When installed, i found that it doesn't have 1st, or 2nd gear. Rather than the normal.. 1-3-5 ------ 2-4-R how mine is.. 3-5-X ------ 4-R-X When put in the normal 5th/Reverse positions, it seems as though it's just in a neutral state. My question is this.. Is this a fairly simple fix? disassemble, assemble correctly? OR could there be more to it? My guess is that this guy just put it back together incorrectly, but then again that's just a wild guess. Thanks

I don't think that if the gears were scrambled up there would be a "simple fix" you can't simply re-arrange gears to come out to the standard gearing...
If, some way in gods name, the gears are actually re-arranged in the sequence you say they are, then something is terribly wrong. there obviously isn't any trans that would be made in that sequence... I'm going to go ahead and say that if someone rebuilt that tranny then they rebuilt it totally wrong. case and point.
