oil leak question

I have a small leak comming from the area where the tranny bolts on to the engine. Its right where the seal is. The guy i got it from said he forgot to put an o ring in there.. Does anyone know what he might be refering to?

It's the rear main seal. You'll have to drop the tranny to get to it.
