Newbie here
Hello, my name is Dylan. 21 from NC.
I recently had to sell my 2007 Solar Orange 350z. It was my pride and joy but due to going back to college, it had to go.. So i was browsing craigslist for something in the same family and found an S14 Kouki. Picked her up for $3,900. I thought it was a decent deal. I love the Kouki's and I have big big big plans.. I was thinking RB20det swap. If not i'll do what everyone does and grab an SR. Right now it has the KA in it with Header and a Trust exhaust which sounds amazing! Since i'm not an expert on these cars... I was wanting to help.. Ive put stance Pro+ coilovers on it.. Now its in need of wheels, bumper, side skirts and a few other appearance parts.. Also should I do the RB20 swap? Or just go with SR.. Thanks in advance. Here she is. ![]() |

good job noob. there is an "introduce yourself" thread so that we don't have to start new threads every time someone new logs on. best recommendation is to spend a lot of time reading and not much time posting.
99.999% of the questions you will have have already been answered repeatedly on this forum. also, do ALL suspension and chassis mods, get a lot of seat time, THEN add power. |

![]() Cheap and pretty standard/economical. Got me through college and kept it stock throughout college ...but then.... Quote:
![]() I would just skip any RB swap or mods or whatnot until you finish college. Probably would've better off sticking with the Z. |

I owed on the Z. That was the problem. I sold my Z for 15k 12k was profit. I have plenty to get the 240 DECENT lol. Btw finding all those gifs had to be time consuming lol.
It's got the whole shabang with suspension. Not sure if they're the best but I'll have to look into it. |

Don't go to college if you are taking out a shit ton of loans!!! If you will be more than 20k in debt after 4 years don't do it. College is not worth it especially at 21 years young

Sounds like you got a kouki with a solid foundation to start from. It will likely be more reliable in this state than any engine you're hoping to swap into it, so I say keep it like it is now until you finish college. You're gonna want to save that cash. It won't be 350Z quick, but the kouki will still plenty of fun.
After college, sell it and go back to Z's, Porsches or Beemers. |

I actually made profit going to a University thanks to them. Excess money paid for my gas, food, and books. If I didn't have those benefits, I would've just go part-time work school and community college first to get most of the classes out of the way and then do the rest to a "university" to get that degree. If you can start your own business, that's great. However, with entry level jobs even looking for 4 year degrees or managers having excuses not to promote you, it's a huge pain in the ass not to have a degree while job hunting unless you work for an extremely reputable company and left in good terms. |

I work with a bunch of elite college graduates who graduated with engineering degrees and the amounts they owe does not make their financial situation any better. You make 65k a year and have to pay back 40k a year for your loans, might as well work some job that pays 25k a year with a clear mind that you don't owe any one anything. Community college for the first year or so is the way to go
