92 ka24de distributor timing issue

So heres what the deal is. I took the head off of my 92 240sx to get a valve job done and resurface the head cause it was burning oil upon acceleration and hitting the 200k mark. I forgot to leave the front cover on but i remembered so i gave it to the shop late. When i got it back both looked resurfaced so i said ok.
Long story short i put everythug back together and I CANT STAB MY DISTRIBUTOR IN!!! its either advanced or retarded. I cant get it centered. I followed the youtube video for both upper and lower timing and the distributor followed by numerous threads on this issue, still no good. All of the marks on the chain are lined up to markings on the cams, idler sprocket and crank. Its at TDC on the compression stroke.

Im trying to get this running its almost been a year!

The big timing sprocket is bolted to front of head and dizzy is bolted to front upper timing cover.... sooooo... dizzy placement will never be changed even if you cut 1" off the bottom of your head. Your timing is simply off either at the crank sprocket or at the head sprocket.

i first line up the adjusting bolt hole in the middle then rotate the dizzy to about the 7-8 o'clock position and then push the dizzy in.

Are you aligning the timing mark on the dizzy shaft to the pin in the dizzy shaft?
http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/486378...g-s-w-pix.html

First take valve cover off and have good lighting into front of motor over timing sprockets. Once you line up the timing mark to the pin on the shaft, install and line dizzy up into front timing cover while looking through the top into the motor. As you stick the dizzy you will see that it will align it self to have the timing mark lined up to the timing mark on the shaft not the pin. If you follow this procedure and you see it line up[ then you have success. Don't clock the dizzy going into the hole at all just follow my steps please for the love of baby jesus. you should only have to wiggle the dizzy until it slides in all the way. Don't force it. no clocking just straight in at tdc and your done.

When the distributor is in the indent dot is lined up to indent on the shaft but the rotor is pointed a little after number 1 spark on the cap. The last tip of the rotor is on number 1. If i adjust it then i wouldnt be able to bolt the dizzy.

IDK what to tell you man this seems like a lost cause. I just replicated this non stop in my head and everytime I stab my dizzy it fits and head just got machined. Machining has no affect on the geometry of the dizzy and its relation to that sprocket position. Try moving your cams a hair to see if you can get her in.

Alright so i was talking to someone about the dizzy and he said the dizzy is stabbed in right (top pic of the dizzy in the pics above). The marks are lined up for the dizzy and #1 spark on cap is at the top portion of the rotor referring to the dizzy pic above. Not sure of that makes sense. Can you verify that? thanks.
