![]() Really curious what combination of parts makes that glorious high-pitch exhaust note AND fast/smooth rev limiter (unlike the gunshot sounds of a BeeR rev limiter). Big cams? Head work? External wastegate? Screamer pipe? Tubular turbo manifold (and would a stock manifold with external gate added be able to make this sound?)? Straight pipe? Greddy intake manifold? And as for the fast/smooth rev limiter -- is this something that an Enthalpy or JWT ROM tune can generate? Or only PowerFC (or other standalones)? I know Martin at Enthalpy can add in a launch-control or something, but I'm guessing it's just that -- a launch control function and that's it. Any idea if the ROM tunes can be made to have a rev limiter like this? Reason I ask -- clearly I love that exhaust note and rev-limiter, and clearly whatever combination of parts this guy has (that makes the sound) makes good power, so I pretty much just wanna know how to emulate that and not waste time/money on parts hoping for that sound if they won't yield it.

Every car has a rev limiter...
The problem is, you'll never perceive your car with that note while driving it. What I mean is, when your driving it, it won't sound like that to you. I know when I've let someone else drive my car, it always sounded differently than I recalled with me behind the wheel. Perhaps that's because you're ears are getting overwhelmed with more than just the exhaust note. You hear intake, turbo, gear box, etc., you get it all, not just one aspect so it sounds differently.

Implying I was giving off the impression that only some cars/s-chassis have rev limiters...

I recently went SR, and have the exact same exhaust setup (Megan tubular manifold instead of the CXRacing that the CA18 had, although they're probably identical), and it's about the same as it was when the CA was breathing out of it. This was with the CA18 and straightpipe/tubularmani. I'm the red hatch on meshies with my headlights on. As far as the smooth/fast non-gunshot revlimiter goes, looks like PowerFC is where it's at.

Haha seems like that just lends itself to making the sound louder
