Time for removal
Suuup so my instructor at school has asked me how long would it take to pull a stock ka24de out from a 240. I already have the upper engine harness removed, the radiator removed, a few lines removed and egr removed. If i were to bring my car in whats the next step and how long would it take to pull JUST the motor no tranny? Ill need to remove the Exhaust manifold , engine mounts and driveshaft?

its quicker and easier to pull the motor and trans at the same time. All you have left to do is drain all fluids, pull drive shaft, un-bolt 2 nuts for the motor mounts, 4 bolts for the trans cross member, 2 heater hoses, clutch slave (if manual), and exhaust, motor can be pulled with exhaust mani still attached.
Other wise if you leave the trans alone, youve got fluids, starter, bell housing bolts (flywheel bolts if automatic), exhaust, then pry the motor from the trans while its stay stuck to the input shaft of the trans and pisses you off to no extent. |

Yup, it would be alot easier to pull it out as a whole. Disconnect the exhaust off the manifold, unbolt the engine mount, pop off shifter/driveshaft, drop the tranny mount, and you should be able to pull it out in one swoop if nothing else is connected to the engine.
