![]() All of last week the gauge was running high and the car was leaking fluid. After inspecting it, I figured it was coming from the water pump. Took the water pump off, but no cracks. Replaced the gasket, as well as the thermostat while I was at it. However, while bolting the thermostat back, the bolt underneath was not catching. I tried to bolt it without the inlet (attaches to hose), but again it wouldn't catch. The inside of the bolt hole (thermostat opening) is apparently stripped! So, I bolted the other 2, hoping that it would provide enough pressure to the bottom bolt. But, as I was refilling it with coolant, the leak appeared again! So, now, I am out of ideas. I hope to make until Thursday, as I have no work that day or Friday, so I can take it to the shop and see what they can do. However, anyone know what OPTIONS I have, or possibly remedy the problem?
Thanks in advance!
