Custom Braided Stainless Steel Lines?
There's tons of lines being sold for specific jobs like the 240sx to z32 conversion stainless steel braided brake lines.
I'm finding myself needing a lot of lines for many different reasons for example I bought a OBP pedal box for my 240 and it comes with 3 masters cylinders. 1 clutch master, 1 rear brake master and 1 front brake master. Each needing lines and also needing reservoir relocation because of the fact that the masters will be underneath my feet (Bad design, I know). I also need those 4 conversion lines I talked about earlier. My question is, if you can make your own hard brake/clutch lines from autozone why can't you make your own braided stainless steel lines? and if so, how? and where do I find the fittings and lines that I need (Like a go to place for these products)? I've researched around for about a hour and can only find motorcycle brake kits that don't even tell you the fittings they come with. Any Help is much appreciated!! |

![]() all joking aside, pretty much every line out there is -4an or -3an... all you need are the crimp fittings that go for a -4an line set to the female 1/8 npt brake fittings, and banjo bolt fittings. not rocket science.. Jegs / summitracing would have all of that... there may be some performance shops around you that carry the supplies, but its easier to take measurements, and just order the pre-fabbed lines online.

I agree with Chaluksa, making lines seems a lot easier than it is, and the last thing you want is a pool of fluid under your feet when the lines fail. Figure out the fitting sizes on everything you're installing and the length of hose you need. Adapters for specific fittings to AN sizes are readily available. Summit Racing, Jegs, ANPlumbing.com

You can order pre-made lines and fittings from Jegs, or search for a hydraulic hose center in your area. They should be able to custom make lines if the lengths online don't suit your needs. I'm using this company in MD http://www.tipcotech.com/ to make SS lines for my engine bay lines since I'm retrofitting ABS into my car.
