Hey guys alright this is a long boring story all with fuck ups caused by your's truly.
To try and shorten it as much as possibly I have a sr20det red top, after I got on boost it started puffing blue smoke. Took the stock turbo out to rebuild it, rebuild went horrible. Bottom journal bearing wouldn't stay in place. Every time I tried to push the shaft through the bottom bearing broke through the snap ring and I was basically screwed. Well anyway I went ahead and got a used t28 turbo thinking this would just be a fairly easy upgrade. Come to find out this t28 turbo doesn't have the correct flange for the stock sr20 manifold, doesn't have the right downpipe bolt pattern, the new downpipe bolt pattern has 2 bolt outlet while my exhaust is 3, plus the wastegate doesn't fit. Actually come to find out this t28 turbo come off of an eclipse. Here's my problem, I can't fabricate worth a dam and working 70+ hrs a week while only getting the weekends off I'm really low on time on actually getting this put together. Big answer is, can I get this t28 turbo to work? I'm sure the answer is probably yes. But what steps do I really need to take to get this to work? After spending 2 hours on google, I am trying to figure out whether or not I should maybe take the 2 turbo's to a machine shop and have them cut the t25 housings to fit this t28, or buy a bunch of adapters and fittings in hopes this all works. Being short on time and now really short on money after buying this turbo I'm kind of at a fork in the road. What is your personal opinion on this? I am supposed to be at the race track next weekend and well, I have only 1 day off by Sunday to get this thing actually together.

Sell the turbo and buy the right one. Save yourself the headache.

you can run an adapter plate on the t28 with two flange gaskets...it'll work fine. the whole clocking it thing would be the only part idk if you could do. buying a piece of 1/8" stock and drilling holes is pretty simple, all you have to do is take measurements of where you need the holes, shouldn't be too hard to clock it correctly.

Or just buy the right one and use the old one as a cheap paperweight.

Yeah...even if you do actually do what I suggested, your down pipe probably won't line up. Could have a shop rebuild the t25.
