Lower harness connectors sohc to dohc swap

Hey guys. I hope this is an easy solution but I need to get an answer. So I'm swapping a Ka24de (dohc) into my 89 (originally sohc) Ihave almost everything I need, have it set in the engine bay, and am plugging in the lower harness to the chassis harness and 1 if the plugs is incorrect and will not plug in.
The male plug is the 1 from the lower harness and I believe it has wires from the speed sensor, starter, and the alternator so it is a 4 wire plug. I can get the wire colors if need be. There are 2 plugs and neither 1 is small enough to plug this connector into.
I guess my question is do I just cut and splice the wires together or do I reuse my sohc lower harness, or do I splice in the sohc connector. I just need to know which 1 to do. Thanks so much guys.
