Weird question regarding boot kit for inner tie rods

I have a 1996 zenki and when I was changing out my inner tie rods, I noticed the different diameter in boot sizes for the driver and passenger side.

The driver side had an opening of almost 2 1/8 inches while the passenger side had about 1.8 inch.

Imagine my surprise when I bought these bellow kits from advance and discovered that one was too small.

Anyway, I used an exacto knife and got the driver side to fit (I hope) and zip tied it down the best I could.

Anyway, I tried searching and it doesn't seem like a common issue, did I do something wrong? Can anyone else confirm? How do I order the correct driver side size? Dealer?

Thanks.

Bump. Any ideas guys? The cut one just fell off, no surprise there.

I'm thinking about buying an 96 Audi A4 boot because the end diameter is bigger. A bit above two inches
