Silicon Coupling Question

Ok, I have an ARC Type 3 BOV and pipe. I also have a GReddy hotpipe. I want to cut a section out of the hotpipe and use couplings to hold the ARC pipe in place. Problem is the ARC pipe is 2" in diameter (same as stock pipe) and the GReddy is 2.25". SO what can I do? I bought 2.25" couplings before I measured the diameter of the ARC pipe, and I can't find step couplings that go from 2"-2.25"

well, honestly, if at all possible I'd try to avoid using that section of 2" pipe. needless flow restriction. I'd suggest taking the greddy hotpipe to a welder and having them cut off the greddy BOV flange and weld on a flange that will fit the ARC BOV.

Problem is the ARC flange is aluminum and the hotpipe is stainless. Unless I can find a Japanese importer that can find me an ARC steel flange, this is about my only option.

Why import from Japan? It's a flange! Unless I'm missing something, aren't most BOV flange patterns just a circular hole with a straight 2-bolt pattern? Trace the shape onto a piece of cardboard and cut it out of some mild steel, then drill the holes. A welder/fabricator should have no problem making this part and welding it on to your existing hot pipe.

It'll probably cost about the same as buying two of those 2"-2.25" couplers but it'll look cleaner and flow better.

Yeah, find a decent machine shop and the work is cheap. I get aluminum flanges made by a place local to me all day long. Quality is excellent, price is damn cheap.
