A memeber recently made 1250whp with a straight RB25 stock crank, built everything else..
I have personally made around 500whp trapped 128mph (full weight S14 W/AC) I will be tuning my RB25 combo (25 bottom end with 26 head) soon, hoping to break 750whp Darius has also made 660whp or so if my memory is correct, straight Rb25 as well |

It's not uncommon for folks to make 600-650whp on stock RB25 bottom ends but with solid pivot, springs, cams as far as head work. I think anything more than that pretty much kills the drivability of the car if you want a street car.

650whp on stock 25 bottom end IS uncommon, its been done.. but its not a common thing.. solid pivots? RB's don't use rocker arms.. Their stock hydro lifters are actually pretty good too, unlike the SR's valvetrain |

S- perhaps state side it is uncommon, but in the mother land, I highly doubt that.

650whp on a stock block RB25 is pushing it, pushing it hard.. thats why its uncommon, if it was 500whp then yeah id say thats pretty common.. Most people that drift don't use turbos large enough to support those figures on such a small engine. Thats why i dont think its common... even in the "motherland" |

I have seen many threads that Flipblabla is in, that guy hasn't got a clue... And most of the time doesn't know WTF he's talking about.
But whatever, it can be done, do it!!! RB25 will be the next 2J at this rate...haha |

![]() Cuz its a great idea to leave stock lifters on 270* procams and make it rev over 8K. |

Idk about 25s but my rb26 only did 420whp at 15psi on a pte6262 before it spun a rod about a month or 2 later. Ill report again when i get it back in. Big power on stock motors is really like a crap shoot. Ive seen some 2jz out of a junk yard do 500+ and some stock but refreshed ones die at like 4. Its all luck of the draw really. I changed the bearings on my rb26 and got the crank polished and put it back together. Im gonna put it back in and turn it up this week. If it dies again im tossing that junk out and going ls2.

Hopefully the machinist thats working on your crankshaft is good as grinding crankshafts perfectly can be tricky. Im 6 years strong with my RB25, it gets worked pretty hard and makes alot of power, never had an issue with the bottom end. getting an Engine from the early 90's not knowing anything about its maint. history or previous use and then try to make double its stock power output doesn't always work out in ones favor... you get good stable oil pressure and a good tune on that motor and it will last a LONG LONG time.. 420whp is nothing for an RB26 to handle. |

I got a rb25 spec 2 recently with a spun bearing and some slight crank damage
70k miles and 2nd drift day rod knock,it was too cheap to turn down £40/30$ First thing I noticed was the sump is just as badly designed as my CA18 As in there is nothing to stop the oil surging rearwards and away from the pick up IMO a simple hinged trap door will do lots more for oil control than the common oil cooler and overfill a liter of oil method some use, and still get rod knock on a drift or track day tbh Agreed they can make loads of power/take a beating but also loads with spun bearings going cheap over here, and imo its the crappy sump design I like the engine and not saying none make big power on the stock sump as many do ,just the sump needs some work if its going to get worked hard on a track/drift/drag and be reliable for some time, |
