s13 Do you really need dampening adj. for drag?

That's basically my question. I am under the impression that if the car is strictly for drag...then spring rate is most important....as long as it's a good shock...I'm considering either the nismo coilovers or the tanabe s-oc type II's...that way I can customize the spring rate by changing the spring if I need too. What are your guys thoughts?

if your primary interest is drag racing, the last thing you need to spend money on is coilovers. people have been in the 1.40-1.50 60ft range with STOCK shocks.

Softer=Better

OK.....basically stock sr with 3" exhaust turbo back 11lb' boost...probably about 210 at the wheels...best time is a 13.7 at 99....lots of wheel spin because I have to use crap tires....if I use sticky tires I wheel hop...sportline springs, stock shocks, sub-frame spacers...what is my best bet to be able to put the power to the track?

basically unless you have enough power to spin the best tires out there i dont think you should even bother setting your car up for drag.

please explain...
I don't understand your thinking....
I am very competitive in my class and have placed as high up as second...
If I could get the susp. that would help my traction issues, 1st would be easier achieved....

If you want to be able to run better tires, get some solid subframe bushings(to reduce wheel hop), or the cheaper alternative which is subframe collars. If you go with the subframe bushings(which are more expensive and harder to install), then you can also take advatage of the tilt spacers. You can tilt your subframe to increase squat for better drag launches. IMO it's not worth it if you're running 13's. Even if you come 1st in your class you're slower than a stock camaro so who cares? If you start running 11's then i'd invest in a full drag setup.

Get your subframe spacers/collars/bushings here
