Lightbulb my brand new custom carpet

so i finally got around to ordering my new carpet. it's from www.auto-interior.com. i haven't put it in the car yet but it's definately quality stuff. i rgot the 80/20 loop and it's all BLACK. just the passenger compartment cause nobody's gonna see the guts in the trunk. the corbeau A4's look like SEX sitting on the nice carpt that has yet to be tainted by time and stupid chicks that can't take care of a car.

i'll update after it's trimmed and installed. they send you the whole rug preformed but you have to trim it. i like this because it gives me a chance to cover up stuff a little more than the factory piece did.

it has preinstalled matting on the back so no need to reuse the old shtuff left by the previous owners. basically it's a perfect factory replacement that you need to trim a little.

price? not 400 dollars, not 300... $133. one hundred and thirty three bones shipped to the great state of texas. seriously... one of the best mods anybody could do. this was the only route since i've been unable to locate ANY 240 with black carpet. (my interior color scheme is black... could ya tell?).

anyhow, that's the heads up on carpet replacement. i suggest all of you S13 owners check em out... totally worth every penny. they ship fast and don't make it till you order it.

I put a SOHC carpet into my dohc which was $10 from the junk yard and after I shampooed it, it was good as new.

yeah, please post pics, i wouldn't even think of getting a carpet because it is a project that is best done with a garage. Leaving in an apt. hinders me to do anything extensive on the car.

quit yer bitchin'.... no way. yes it may be less convenient, but still easily done. i have stripped down my coupe yet, but i pulled out everything in my old fb replaced the carpet and put everything back in in about 3 hours so living in an appt complex shouldnt stop you. if you cant work in your parking lot take your car to a friends house or the local auto parts store parking lot.

i plan on gutting my coupe and pulling out all my sound deadening, replacing the carpet and wiring a new cig lighter and throwing everything back in in the parking lot of my appt. complex.
i guess im just lucky for having the space and a cool appt. manager

i'd post pics but my cam sucks and it's just a big black square which would sorta defeat the purpose.

look at any brand new black carpet... totally worth it.

best mods to price ratio to date:

bushings and carpet

I personally found trimming new carpet to be a real pain in the ass. Mainly by the door sills, getting it to tuck nicely under the scuff plates. My biggest regret is not spraying down a bit of adhesive to form the carpet better, cause it's easy to cut it a bit short when the carpet's still new and stiff. A good piece of advice is let the new carpet sit in the hot sun for a few hours (or more) before putting it in. And make sure there's NO excess by the pedals so that they don't get hung up on the material.

Great link Makoto! Tons of colors choices available too if you want something unusual. I'll definitely be installing new carpet when I re-do my interior this winter/spring.

i figured a lot of folks would get use from it. yeah, the carpet has been sitting in my office floor for the last week. when it goes into the car it'll have more fabric than the stocker for sound deadening purposes. the stock console area had HUGE holes... those will be reduced to slits cept for the tiny electrical box that i'm sure needs to "breathe". i'll probably use my stock blue carpet as a stencil if i run into any severe problems.

now i just need black floormats that look stock that they never made for our cars

when she gets back she'll be back in black

Now it is just discarding doing extensive projects, even if it is a couple of hours at the apartment. 1 hour max is perfect. Try doing a turbo project that was suppose to last a couple of days that lasted 2 weeks and working on it when I wasn't in school. That is a bitch right there. For now on I am going to try to use a garage to do any major things.

i ordered the same carpet from them 1.5 years ago... its really nice and durable, only thing is that moisture likes to stay underneath it and not evaporate so look out
