wastegate information needed.

I purchased a new manifold and the external gate size says it's a 44mm wastegate.

My main question is, Would a 38mm wastegate work just as well or do i have to actually go with what is on the manifold? What are the draw backs of only running say a 38mm wg on a 44mm manifold?

well, the flange size is different.
vibrant makes an adapter you could use though

you may run into issues if the wastegate is undersized for your application though.
