Jspec Claus visited today.

Thanks to Sam from Jspec for sending this elbow out to me out here (not that I can't find any here... I just don't feel like paying JDM retail and I can't find any used pieces). It's the Megan Racing SR turbo outlet. $119 and shipping from Jspec.com ( http://www.jspec.com/megansrelbow.html ).

I'll be posting a full review after I install it. If anyone wants the unused 3 hole DP gasket, lemme know.

What came in the box (including warranty card and 2 Megan Racing stickers... woo!)

Also included:

I'll be using this Juran gasket instead of the one provided. I'd purchased it beforehand to use on the DP I've yet to install.

I guess all I need at this point would be a test pipe.. I might get one if I can find a resonated pipe for a nice price. I'll be installing TC rods, DP, this elbow, and maybe a C's shifter (if i can find the proper bolts) in one day. If I remember to, I might take pics.

On your advice, I ordered the MR Turbo Outlet and an MR Downpipe yesterday. Death to lag!

How much was shipping to Japan? You couldn't find a MaDtYtEjDm(tm) unit for cheaper?

Good Luck!

What advice?! ACK!! I haven't even installed it yet! I can't give advice!!

Shipping here was $7.05, Priority Mail. Took exactly a week! Pretty quick, imo.
Like I said in the original post, I didn't want to pay JDM retail and couldn't find any used outlets. JDM retail can be pretty nasty sometimes. I had to almost chokeslam Lisa to keep her from getting the dog a $60 leash and collar set. We went to the base home store and bought a nice leather collar for $12 (and we're reusing the current leash). Couldn't pass on the JDM catfood.. ¥128/can and it comes with real fishies. The cats fucking LOVE that stuff.

Anyhoo, I'm sure your new parts will make a world of difference on your car.
Maybe you can post up pics of the downpipe (and installed on your car!).

-Kevin

w0rd, dawgg! 2NRz fo lYf3!
The urf-quizzake was in NW Japan, about 200-250 miles from me... either a 5.8 or 6.8 can't remember.
We were on our way to another base and stopped at a light when it happened. Shook the car pretty good.

edit: 15 people were killed, over 700 injured. It was a harsh quake.

i have some megan stuff, the DP.

it is a bit long actually, but it could be the combo of the DP and elbow from another ebayer...

as for comparing the stuff versus big JDM brands (trust), it is just bent steel nothing more... mind you that dividing wall might make some sort of difference.

but hell, if it fits properly and does the job, why spend 4 times more?

btw mr meph...

the fact that you brought that part in from cali begs the question:

"are parts generally NOT cheaper over there?"

because one would have thought that they would be cheaper, what with the lack of international shipping and fewer distribution channels.

Keep these facts in mind - 1.) I'm receiving mail on-base, so people in the states are basically just paying to send it to a post office out here. 2.) on this page: http://www.jspec.com/faq.html under the question "Do you guys offer discount?"... suffice it to say that I fall into the discount category.

i was told that the greddy outlet comes with an adapter where you can screw the stock o2 onto it then into the same size threaded holes as the outlets that we have. initially they both have the same sized threads but the greddy comes with an adapter , i ve read threads long ago about others using different o2's but i searched and i came up with nothing.

Damn $116 bucks you can go to night pager (since you are just a few miles away) and have them make you a gater elbow for about 9800 yen. I oredered one from them and well I like it. it is also stainless, the only problem is with JCI you have to cap it so it will not leak out excessive gas or sound.

Looks nice Kev.... Is stuff more accessible in Japan? Seems like it would be, but I figured that I would ask since, well ya know, you are there and everything.... Wish I was!

Stuff is way more accessible here... It's just about knowing where it IS to get to it. Silviasichigo says I'm near Night Pager. That's news to me!

Haven't found any Super Autobacs nearby, however there are two normal-sized Autobacs within a few km. I think I'll be checking out the other Up Garage I found this weekend.

BTW, they have tons of 7-11s here.
