Is there a solution for this? Steering ujoint won’t reach the rack
After relocating my steering rack forwards, I am no longer able to connect the steering shaft ujoint with the rack bc it’s to short to reach. Has anyone been through this before and knows a solution?

The steering shaft that the u joint secures to should actually telescope a bit too I think.
Also, did you loosen the other side of the u joint and slide it down as far as possible? |

I was hoping to not go that route but I might have to if my other plan fails. I’m gonna try to stack 2 bushings on top each other to see if it’ll raise the rack a bit to reach

No need for cutting and welding..
with the rack unbolted from the subframe, throw the column into the yoke, tighten it, then bolt the rack to the subframe. As you tighten down the brackets the steering column will extend. |
