First i have leaky injectors and now last night while driving, it started making a horrible rattling in the head, the oil light comes on but i checked the oil and its on the H for max.  It almost sounds like valves...its horrible sounding and i can hear it through the exhaust.(the exhaust like pulses out instead of being a smoothe sound)   Any help?

Are you getting a oil substance coming from your exhaust?

Sounds to me like your valve train is suffering from low oil pressure. Your dipstick says "high" or "max", but it could mean that the oil isn't reaching your top end.

Do this, take off your oil filler cap and start up the car. Look inside and see if oil is spraying around. If not this is a bad thing. Could be many problems tho.

How many miles on your car? SOHC? Oil pumps tend to go after 100k on the ka motors.

Does this occur all the time, or only when the motor is cold, or restarted after sitting awhile?

All the time, my car sounded like this when it was low on oil(i had a leaky valve cover gasket)..so i just filled it up and it went away.... &nbsp; Now it wont go away and its all the time..much louder this time as well. &nbsp; How could i definently pinpoint it to a oil pump because id much rather have it be that &nbsp; <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Is your car a dohc or sohc? If sohc the oil pump is externally mounted and should be easy to replace.

If you end up doing a timing chain job, I recommend that you change the oil pump anyways..just in case. So either replace it alone or with a chain or valve job. My two cents.

I've always noticed when the exhaust is pulsing like that, it is generally due to a piston not firing. &nbsp;Of course this would also cause the car to pulse with it.

How hard is it to replace the oil pump on a sohc?
