Pretty much in a nutshell.  The system makes your car backfire whenever you let off the gas and keeps the turbo spooling.  They used to be used in rally racing alot but its not as common as it used to be because turbos are getting better with less lag time.  Am I correct everyone??

No, if my answer was from initial d, I would've went in depth like takahashi ryosuke and then started coming up with different scenarios and reasons why the hachiroku can't be beaten.  Anyway, I think they also used in drag racing. I think the way it was setup was different.  The one for dragging allowed you to shift at your revlimit without letting off of the gas.  Personally, I'd be scared to try something like that even if I knew everything would be ok.

yea, I saw that on initial-D too, and then saw some rally clips and notice the cars do that. So with this system, you wouldnt need to have a BOV or something or what? (dont really understand the concept of this system). heh

I'd figure you would since you still need a way for the excess air to escape when you let off of the gas now that you are sending more air by keeping the turbo spooled

another thing also your engine and turbo warm up ALOT when using an antilag system. some of the stand alone systems which incorpearate antilag features (motech) have cool down mode because your engine gets so hot.

I have been looking for a definative answer on that for a while thanks.... and for the intial d thing , I think he meant the guy who started the thread... Sudou's Mitsu in that show was awsome, I would give my right eye for a car like that... And I love how that MISFIRING SYSTEM was all you could understand in a very japanese conversation... that and lan-evo.

thanks for the complete answer Takumi!

About the EVO, you know whats sad, the old eclipse GSX is more of an EVO than the new lancers that are out.

I read that and wondered what the hell you were talking about... then I saw you said lancers... not evolutions... yah, the lack of a turboed 4g63 engine kind ahurts those lancers, and the fat the made a "rallyedition" makes me wanna scream.

I was under the impression that we would be getting the Evolution VII in '03 or perhaps the VIII in '04; has that turned out to be completely false?

As great as the Evo is, I still prefer the STi! &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
