So today my car decides it wont go in reverse. I'm taking it to the transmission place on monday. its a 90' auto. do you guys think i should do a 5-speed swap since i already need a new transmission? Do i need to change anything with the ECU? thanks

Make sure you got enough fluid in it. I have seen problems like yours when a trans doesnt have enough fluid in it. If I were you though I would swap in a five speed anyways if you got the money for it.

If something. Anything. If it breaks, upgrade it. Then tell yourself it was cheaper. Think about this.
New auto tranny = $1500 Used manual tranny = $300 Misc manual parts = $400 Labor = $300 So there. You have saved money over a new tranny. Just dont think about the whole: Used auto tranny = $300 Labor = $150 This is a great was to establish cognitive dissonance. Removing your mind from a situation. -Jeff

Isn't that a great way to do it? I did the same thing with my exhaust. New OE exhaust: 200 dollars labor: 30 dollars Replacements because of rust, multiply above by 3. New Performance stainless steel exhaust: 517 dollars Labor: 30 dollars Savings because of quality construction: 143 dollars <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]()
