Hey yall so my sr got rebuilt about 1000 miles ago, i removed my drain pan cause i was replacing it. I looked inside the oil pick up and found a small flat shiny piece of metal in the strainer, its not magnetic. The oil didnt look to have any metal particles in it. I then removed the oil filter and cut it open to see if there was anything in it, and seemed to have alot of small pieces embeded into the filter. What do you guys think?

not the worst idea to check your bearings...pull the upper pan and check the mains one at a time...

I have about 5000 miles on my engine.... Depends how big the chunk is.... Are you sure its metal. A picture would help as well.....

Truthfully, street drive it again for 500 miles and check the oil again.
