S13 SR20DET rear main seal just popped out

I'm in the process of replacing the rear main seal cause it started leaking. I think the leaking started because I did have the engine overheat once. What surprised me though is how easily the seal popped off when I pressurized the crankcase with just a bit of air. Is it to be expected that the rear main seal goes that bad after overheating?

Also, I would appreciate if anyone has any other advice to consider when dealing with an overheated engine. The internals look fine it didn't get crazy hot and it was at idle. But I guess all the seals kinda went bad. Even the rtv seals.

The engine is already out and I've been pulling it apart to redo all the seals.

Thanks
