Hood Pin Brand?

First of - Yes I searched and saw that yes if you have a CF hood get hood pins for your safety... Unless you want your hood to fly off. But what I wana know is does it matter what brand you get? I was just gonna find some cheap set on eBay instead of getting some Sparco or Cusco pins. Does it really matter?

Just get some Sparco ones. My friend bought some cheap no name ones and in a matter of weeks, they started to rust, and the locking mechanism got stuck. Hood pins are for safety reasons, don't go cheap. They're no more than $40. If you could afford a CF hood, you could buy some nice Sparco pins.

It's insurence money, somebody backed up into my parked s14 and I got 725 bucks, it cost me less to get a CF hood than to get an OE hood and paint it... I guess I'll go for the quality pieces. Thanks.

This is a different brand then the ones that I used, but seem to be the same construction. They worked fine for me, even on track, going 130mph. They're aluminum, so they won't rust.

Sparco/Momo hoodpins are less than $25 from NOPI. I hate to go there, but they do sell stuff cheap sometimes.

its all about doing it right the first time or if you go cheap you will still end up going right after you replace it with the good stuff so save yourself time and money and do it right the first time even if it means waiting an extra paycheck to get them!
