s14 se stock wheels rubbing!?

i dont know if this should go under chat or tech, but i guess its kind of a discussion.

so i did a 5lug swap in the front on my s13 and put on s14 se wheels. i also have tein tie rods with kazama ends. it seems the the back inner side of the tire is rubbing against the frame or frame rail when i turn the wheel a lot like for parking but under normal driving conditions it is fine. is this suppose to be happening? i just got an alignment also with the tie rods set for stock toe in the front. this makes me worry when i put on my wider wheels. 17x9 +22 since the stock s14 wheels are only 16x6.5 +30. is there any way i can fix this? spacers? my friend said there's a kind of steering rubber stopper that goes onto the knuckle/spindle to keep the wheel from turning and rubbing at a certain angle. i never heard of that for our cars..

every s13 is going to havea problem with the tire hitting the frame rail at full lock, youre supposed to cut that lip off or pound it down, also try adjusting caster to around 8 degrees, it shoudl help.

I got 5lug swap on my s13 with TEIN tie rods and tie rod ends. With the s14 SE wheels they definitely rub. I put a 10mm spacer on it and it barely rubs.

Its not just rubbing the frame rail though, its also rubbing the tension rods. If you dont want it to rub the frame rail you can try 12mm spacers or just get lower profile tires. make your overall diameter smaller.

I thought s14 SE wheels were 16x6.5 and 40 offset....

Do you have coilovers??!?!?

Yes is 16 x 6.5 +40 GAH!!

Yes have your caster at 8 degrees.

Its hitting the inner fender well that right behind the driver side fuse box??

ok maybe got the wheel specs wrong. looked at it against and seems like the bottom inner is rubbing the rails. also, the nut on the bottom of my kazama ends is hitting against the lca. my caster is 7.5 up from. i have coilovers, but doesnt seem like anything is related to them. the tires/wheels arent even touching them. tire size is stock. i think its 205/60/16.

It's been a common finding that the spacer on the tie rod increasing steering angle to hit the frame rail lip on S13s, listen to the guys who've said to bang it down or cut it off.
