first mods:

aluminum bezel installed

block off plate where cruise switches were

jdm gauge bezel (yeah block off plate and coin holder)
oh and I wonder what those switches might be used for??

switches, jdm bezel, and gauge cluster installed

here's my view

another shot of the switches w/ air fuel gauge visible

some armor all on the grant wheel (put that on 2 years ago) and another shot of the bezel, notice right corner where vent normally is, I'll be putting some gauges there. also notice the faze gauges are gone.

yeah just put everything on photobucket. I'll edit the posts later. anyways I'm moving the switches I think cause they weren't very agreeable there. kinda would feel weird in te middle of the run to have to push them. I already made new panels out of CF to replace those, I think the on-off toggle will stay, and I'll probably go to a momentary, on-off-on toggle to use for the remote opener, and the pushbutton for purge, and I'll figure out a way to mount the actual spray switch with the shifter. like the b+m shifter switch

the replacement vents, not drilled yet or anything

center vent w/ carbon fibre insert. This will house some other gauges

think i could use some air? brand new tires that will never see street action again

uhhh little bit of mileage? only a tad

I'm not sure what look your going for but right now the two things that I had a problem w/ was the mounting of the A/F gauge and the carbon fiber panel looks like it needs to be re cut to match the hole better. Don’t take this as flaming or anything this is my honest opinion, or constructive criticism whatever but I’m not trying to be rude. Anyhow I like the rest, it looks good to me.

yeah I did that carbon fibre panel fast as shit. It actually lines up right, the bracket is just kind of tilted up right now, its just a matter of bending it down a bit and I got tired of working after several hours. The a/f gauge was there way back in the day when I was trying to not scream anything done to the car (hence the ricey ass DTM style exhaust on 2.75" fully mandrel bent pipe, injen cai, jwt ecu, etc). I didn't want the gauge to be seen. and since now it won't really be used (i'll have a digital wideband) I'm kind of leaving it there just to see if I actually want it. as far as look that I'm going for, I'm not. its a purpose built 1/4 mile car. it will see some street use but until I'm fast enough, no reason to have a crazy paint job etc. Basically until I get sponsored, if I get sponsored (coughivanfromphatka-tcough)

what is that, your car? hey for $4.99 you can't complain, also its for a zenki s13 (I guess there was some difference where the turn signal and high beam indicators are because the ones in mine are custom holes so I can see a bit).

custom holes...looks like they were punched through with a nail.
im not tryin to flame or anything here, but a lot of that work looks half assed...i guess if its funtional and you dont care how it looks, then ok. You want it as a drag car anyways. what ever floats ur boat.

you hit the nail right on the head (pun not intended)

as far as looks yes its purely functional, but I probably will be cleaning a lot of it up for a bit, this was all done in a half assed bordem last night, and those fucking carbon fibre block off plates are harder than youd think.

Day 2

well day 2 on the drag s13 ka-t buildup today.
installed the shift light, took off the aluminum bezel, put carbon fibre block offs where the drivers vents normally are, one side will be housing some switches, I got 2 of the 3 installed today including the indicator, need to get a on-off-on momentary switch tomorrow. MSD RPM SWITCH for the shift light is mounted on the pass side of the center console. also did something kinda cool in my book, I'll have a pic of that too.

shift light just after mounting it up

what the shift light looks like from the outside

MSD RPM Activated Switch, it controls the shift light

thats got the new carbon fibre block off plates, switches, shift light is actually lit up by itself, there was no flash for this shot, I just had a 9-volt hooked up to it

that's with the wheel up, and flash on

that was my little cool thing I did, I custom did that myself, not sure if I'll use that or get the b+m one.

and no people I'm not posting day by day shots, just when I do something kinda modded like this stuff. next day I work on it I'm finishing wiring up the nitrous stuff, and then re-doing the center vent block off plate, and then de-spoilering the trunk

its going to be built for drag, and the class I'm building it to spec wise allows you to run 2 power adders, so yes nitrous and turbo. as far as the ka-t part I'm ordering the setup actually at the moment. This is just kind of stuff that I've been meaning to finish up for a while that I half did a while ago (the center vent had been out for over a year). the entire car isn't even supposed to be done until august. like I said I'll be updating when I do the more update worthy stuff. this update actually was kind of an update to an update. the pics at the top is because people had said last week when I announced the project that they wanted to see pics, then these were to update those pics since I changed some stuff around.

Everything install so far has added weight, decreased your ability to read your gauges and nothing has added power... so far its a rice mobile..

Lets see some power adding crap!

That's one hell of a ashtray light you've got there, I think mine's only a 5W or so, 100W seems a little excessive.

Why did you mount the rpm switch on the outside and not hide it somewhere in the dash?
