Lowest Spring Drop?

Im using some Cusco coilovers at the moment and they are far too stiff for what I use the car for... So I think im going to replace them with some aftermarket shocks and springs, however I want something thats going to give a good drop.. The lowest ive found were the tein stechs which were something like 1.0 in front 1.4 in the rear. I was wondering which spring has the most aggressive drop.. yes ive searched and came up with nothing... so any input will help alot, thanks

A low drop is going to ride worse than coilovers.

i don't know how gay the front geometry on s14's are but if they're similar to 13's you'll be humping the front bumpstop before you go low enough.

cuscos too stiff for whta the car is used for? downgrading to spring/shock? wtf.. is it used to pose?

go with coilover damper kits. you can have any height you want with adjustable damper for racing and street use. your best off with it. I cant really tell you which is best, but do the research on which would be best for you (personal preference thing). if a set of coilover/adjustable damper kits are too expensive for you, and your planning on sticking with aftermarket shocks/springs, mine as well get the Tein Basics atleast (although they arent the best comfort) but they are pretty cheap (if ~ $800 is is an ok price for you) and very decent and as i heard better than teh regular shocks/spring set up .

Tein basics is basically shocks/springs set up except you can adjust the height with out the cheap ass drop zone or whatever cheaply made generic brands.

If you're just after the drop, Tein SS or FLEX might do the trick, as well.

basics are alright, but they do not have any upper pillowball mounts/camber plates, so that will not be adjustable. if you are going after coilovers for under 1000, maybe check out the D2s? ive seen them for like 750 shipped, and they come with the camber plates. there was a discussion about them on here recently, try searching for that

I heard the Tein Basics ride is jsut OK. not too bad but not that good. A lot of people say it feel equivalant to eibach sportlines w/ kyb agx. But at least the tein basics are height adjustable.

and yeah...the only problem is the teins dont come with pillow mounts for both upper and rear, so your camber will be a little off. but you can buy them seperately. youll be able to find them for about $100 a pair. Also, the dampers arent adjustable.

if you are interested in some that come with these that are also cheap, look into d2 coilovers or k sports. but i heard the quality isnt so good. I beleive megan racing coilovers do the job very well, even better than d2's and ksports. these 3 coilovers may run ~ $750 - $900. (people in the Megan Racing coilover thread say that it is VERY worth the money.)

if you JUST want the drop...i suggest D2 w/ soft springs

if you want high quality, look into something "jdm"...i hear KTS is all the rage as of lately for about 1200 bucks

hmm thanks for all the input guys..... Im gonna try putting some 6/4 springs on the cusco coilovers I have on there now.... you think that will make a big difference? or should I just save my time and go for the tein basics? I believe the springs are something like 8/6 on there now.... Just wondering how big a difference some softer springs will make?
