got an auto-manual swap done about 2 weeks ago to a 95 s14. used a s14 ka, with an s13 tranny (fit fine). ever since the swap the clutch has been acting strangely.

when cold, clutch pedal will feel soft with the contact patch low, as clutch/engine get hotter or if driving hard, pedal will get harder to press and contact patch will creep up and upon medium to hard acceleration (in any gear) the clutch will slip, causing engine rev with little acceleration. it beacme almost unbearable so i changed the slave cylinder to a new nismo, bypassed the clutch damper box with earl's braided cable, and got me a new rps clutch. 3 different renowned shops in the so cali all have no idea what my problem may be. the only thing that isn't new is the master cylinder which has been changed out once already. fluid levels are all fine. and air bubbles within the lines do not seem to be a probable cause since the system was bled and refilled when changing the clutch.

any and all help will be greatly appreciated

since you never said anything about the clutch pedal. I'll ask, have you tried adjusting the clutch pedal so the clutch engages sooner?

yes, but then that gives problems when cold and i'll hear rubbing noise coming from the clutch in the transmission. but after heating up, the clutch will still slip

I have the same "problem" after I did my 5 speed swap, but it's nothing to worry about and I don't think you can really fix it. When it's cold the fluid compresses and is lower or something so it'll the pedal feel will be a bit sloppy/squishy. I recomended before you get going just pushing the clutch in and out alot (at least a minute) and it should get better. Though that doesn't answer the slippage question... Replace the throwout bearing/pilot bushing?

I have noticed that a lot of 240's have flywheels that are out of spec (too thin)
that might be your problem.

just to let you know the clutch fluid should not compress in any weather situation due to the fact that it is hydraulic fluid. I belive it is DOT3 that is recommended in there, but it is made so that it will not compress unless their is air in the lines.

did you have the fw resurfaced when you put the clutch in?

yeah, i also think its ur flywheel. When I did my 5 speed swap, I was a lazy and broke to resurface and had the same problem. Try that and see if it helps.

i have the same problem, i resurfaced the flywheel and my clutch is a exedy clutch from ebay. We didnt replace the bearing so i think thats probably the problem. =[

sounds like the throwout bearing is bad.
i hope you didnt put the clutch disc in backwards lol.

i resurfaced the fw, replaced the slave cylinder, replaced the throwout bearing, ...basically i resurfaced and replaced everything i could (respectively to each part that is)... i also bypassed the damper box and fed the line directly into the slave cylinder... and the hard line isn't cracked.

yea same thing happened with my swap using an exedy clutch that i bought off from ebay.... but i had a wrong size release bearing

i bought all my parts from phase 2... very very reliable... so i doubt they gave me wrong parts

Well if it don't slip then it probably your hydrolics.
Maybe you got an air pocket in the slave?
