I have a 90' 240SX and it did not come with a stock LSD. What do i need to get to have a 2 way LSD in my car. Which LSD's?

what do you need to get to have a 2 way LSD in your car? A 2 way LSD. You buy one. And then install it.

The thing is, i searched but i couldnt find exact info. Its hard to draw conclusions but easier to just post something and get it exact. But what about a caseing or "pumpkin" (what is that). So i could buy any LSD that i want that says 89-94 240SX and all i would have to do to my non-LSD 240SX is take out the rear differential and replace with new LSD?

the pumpkin is the casing. The differential is inside. You buy a LSD made for a open diff 240sx pumpkin. Considering you don't know what all this stuff is you shouldn't attempt to do it yourself. Buy the LSd and take it somewhere to be installed.

anywho, the first step in getting parts for your car is researching about them. search up lsd and you will find plenty of posts about it! i know cause i used to be in ur position. The only thing is that u need to take the initiative and not to be lazy bout it. but i will point u in the right direction, with the lsd that u are looking for. get one that fits in a open diff pumpkin(Pumpkin is the outer shell of the differential that the half shafts fit into) so that you wont have to get different half shafts.

No i know how to instal, its just that I dont know the terms. Im not that great on drivetrain terminology. So i need to get a 2 way that fits inside the stock 90 240SX pumpkin basically. OOOKKK i get it. I had a general idea but not exact. Thanks guys.

Ok, when searching on a subject, you should expect to spend at least an hour on reading old threads if you really want to understand the terminology. Rarely will a direct answer be right there waiting for you.

You can increase your knowledge by searching things like KAZZ, Nismo, LSD, VLSD, etc, then being patient when browsing through the readings.

There is something amazing happening about 45 minutes from your house every other friday at USA InternationalSpeedWay(aka Lakeland)
Drift night!!! 30 dollar entrance fee then it is open practice for four hours I think. This coming friday is going to be the first one yet but my car isnt in good enough shape to go(aka piece of shit). I should still be attending with my friend in his 2nd gen RX-7 so it might be good. What the F are you doing in Tennesse?

For relevance to the topic just buy the Nismo street lsd and you're done.

i might be going to florida for march break/reading week.

going to this crazy place called bahai honda. when my parents told me over the phone i was like "bahai HONDA?" what? oh an island? okay.

its like somewhere down in the keys i think...key largo?

might swing by cape canaveral cocoa beach to visit my gramps. 80 years old and drives to florida every year. what a trooper. brave too considering the car he drives..car jacking..

I got a job up here, showed a lot of potential but I'm beginning to wonder. I didn't have a single show last month and this month is looking weak. Bills are hard to pay living off shop work. (oh, I work for an audio company that does a lot of one-offs, festivals, and small tours)

OT. I have a vlsd and it sucks?!?! ha
