SR black top issue

Ok, first off I'm new to this board and want to say hi.

Ok, here is my problem. I have a black top installed into a 90 240Sx with SR trani, all the wiring was done off of SRswaps web site. When I leave the MAF unpluged the car runs fine. But as we all know you can't boost or accellerate. However when i plug the MAF in the car begins to sputter, throw mads amount of fuel and goes from 17 vacuum to 10 vacuum.

Here's what I've tried:
check wiring to MAF..apears to be fine No loose connections
checked for codes...got code 55
installed Walbro 255
checked for boost leaks
timing is dead on.

Again as long as I leave the maf off it runs fine. Little info on the MAF. I'm using the sohc maf and the plug has the black, b/w, white plugs..I just pluged them up accordly. Anyone run into this problem?

try resetting your ecu, unplug the + battery cable wait about 5 min (dont plug in or change mafs while the battery is connected..) you might also want to check the tech section to see if that maf will work..I dont know personally cuz I had a complete clip and had no probs looking for a maf!!

I've already cleared the ecu...the maf is the trouble..not the ecu. The ecu can be cleared by just simply twisting the white screw and holding for 30 seconds. Again the car only runs right after I unplug the maf. So since I was in the technical section I was wondering if the wiring was different on the sohc maf verus the SR maf..Other wise my maf is shot.

lol... dude you've obviously figured out your problem.

I would go look around for an SOHC MAF or SR MAF and search for one around $80.. unfortunately they are $$$ :*(

Good luck. I would give you mine, but then I'd need to replace it with another one. *sniff*

I guess what I was looking for was is the wiring a direct match or is it goofy? I already have 2 mafs with no success. god I can't wait to go stand alone.

Hey, I have no clue what happened. But the car runs now. I took it for my first 20 minute drive today. I um have no clue what happened? Heres what I did. I pulled the positive feed off the battery. I looked at her and told her I was parting her out in pieces. When to the shop got confirmation they'd take the motor back with proof it runs. Came home rewires the maf back so the the wires match perfectly.

black to black
white to white
black/white to black/white

put the postive post back on the battery..she fired right up and was running right. She sputtered for a 2 seconds as to say sike and I took off into the nite. I was hitting and hold 7psi and went on a 20 minute drive. I'll go my tach tomorrow from Noyan. It runs like a dream.

Slap me stupid and call me susan...LoL...
