stop lamp question...

my problem is that my stop lamps dont work... my tail lights work when i turn on my lamps, but when i break they dont get brighter. before that my tails were working flawlessly. i was wondering if there were any relays or anything close to that that would make them not work anymore... they worked intermittantly before... when they didnt work, i would fiddle with the switch where the break pedal is connected to... but now they dont work at all... what would make only my stop lamps not to work? my bulbs arent burnt neither and i am using the right bulbs...

could be a lot of things, but i know very very common problem with s13s (including mine) was that the connections on the tail light bulb wires would melt the plastic they were screwed into and thenthe plastic would flow in between the connections opening the cuircuts. pop those tail light assemblies out and unscrew and re connect all the connections...hopefully that helps man

You answered your own question. Replace the switch.

i did replace the switch... i dont know if it would make a difference, but i have an SR and i have 2 switches... i look at all my other buddies 240's and they all have one... theres also a relay looking thing that they both connect to... is it common for these things to go out?

There's a brake switch and a clutch cancel switch. Brake switch wires are red/yellow and red/green. Swap that one.

The 3pin unit is the flasher.

would you mind explaining the clutch cancel switch? if we are talking about the same switches, then there are 2 switches for the brake pedal...
