Hey i was wondering if anyone can point me in the rite direction. My 89 SOHC engine surges after 3000rpm when driving. Not really sure what the problem is since the engine was just swapped. Had to put in a replacement SOHC since I got no money but this new engine has been surging after 3000 rpm. Seems almost as if I'm revving the car but im not.

sounds like an electrical problem... when you say surge do you mean stutter ? when i say stutter i mean it feels like its missing.... when i say missing i mean, yeah you get the picture.... does it rev without gas? or does it miss then rev higher. fill us in with more details.

When i say surging its is like when revving the car. Kinda like revving the car at 5k or 6k rpm. But it is happening at 3k rpm which is weird. So its not stuttering. Its more like revving but at lower rpm.
