rotas anyone?

my friend and i want rotas in custom sizes. though details are not clear, rota said that they would do it if at least 10 sets sell. just wondering if anybody wanted rotas in better sizes/offsets. thinking about either getting the gt3s or the work emotion replicas with lower offsets.. a lot of the other styles look good on s13/s14s too. anybody interested?

you know...posting sizes would probably be a good idea

i think 17x9+15 17x10 +22 would be good sizes (offsets are estimated)

i am really suprised at Rota not jumping on the Nissan bandwagon, and copying possibly few of the Nismo/SSR/Rays wheels. They have almost all the cool JDM wheels covered in 4x100 (aka civic/miata/corolla) and few of the ITR/s2k wheels, but nothing with less then 30et and larger then 15" and wider then 7".

rota has some cool wheels with light weights, but their offsets blow donkey.

btw they come in upto 17x7.5 i believe. not just 15"

Any of those made with those offsets would sell out the ass. I would actually really like to start seeing AFFORDABLE low offset wheels. There are some out there but mostly super expensive. I would also like to see Rota move up to doing some forged wheels. I'm sure for how much cheaper they would be able to sell them people would buy them

i have some of their 18x8.5 subzero in bronze but the offset is something like +45 so they still look like ass on my s14 i need some of those fancy schmancy bolt on spacers...or 5lug and real wheels

Because they're for FWD cars.

Anyway, I'm sure you could round up 10 or so people... but you need the following:

PICS of the product.
a PRICE, most importantly.
and you need to list SIZES so people can VOTE on what they want.

I'd buy a set of the Emotion replica's in 17x9 +20 offset(4-lug) or something along those lines depending on price.

I have the slipstreams, 16" in bronze, they look pretty good, besides the horrid offset... Everybody that sees them calls them "Spoon"s (the knock-off Rota copied).

Buying a set of rotas is like buying a pair of walmart jeans.

Wheels are the most important thing aesthetically on a car, why buy wheels that simulate the 'look' of badass wheels but are obviously fake, sit half a foot inside your fender, don't allow you to run a wide tire, and are not as strong (not that big a deal but true!)?
Save up, there are deals to be had out there...also the number of options for 'cheap' seems to be increasing...
My suggestion, buy used nice wheels...

except the price difference between Walmart jeans and Abercrombie Jeans is about $30 while the difference between Rota's and Spoon/Work/Volk etc... is like $800. Most Rota's are NOT "obviously fake." I've got buddies who rock Slipstreams and buddies who rock Spoon SW's and NOBODY can tell the difference. Also, your arguement about offset/width is the same reason why not that many folks on here run Rota's. Which is why the thread starter here is looking into getting Rota's made in PROPER offset and size.

Didnt spoon/rota basically copy the Regamaster Evo?
or is that the other way around?

if i could get them in the correct offset, i'd buy them in a second, even if they didnt have a lip.

I can't afford desmond regamasters. As sexy and ask strong as regamasters are, my car isn't such a high priority to me that i'll drop thousands on wheels for it. Many people race on rotas. i'll take em

if those "NOBODIES" cant tell a difference, then they dont know what they are looking for. Or they just dont care enough, good for them.

thats just me, im very picky about wheels, and theres an obvious difference between the Rota's and the Spoon's.....

yeah, build quality

but if you never reach that limit that the quality of the rotas has. then who cares?

that's like building an SR for 1000 hp, and then boosting 7psi on a T25...

what's the point?

Ugh... to tell the difference, you have to look at the back of the rim. On a car, you can't tell unless you were get down right next to the wheel and inspect it, which obviously nobody does.

Rota Slips

Spoon SW

Slips are $400, Spoons are $1800. Anyone with common sense would rather buy the Slips and spend the saved $1400 on something else for their car. They might not be able to say their wheels were made in Russia, but they will be $1400 richer and have wheels that look exactly the same.

asthetics aside, the problem i think everyone sees is the lack of affordable wheel options in good sizing to wrap performance tires around. Kosei K1's come to mind...but that's about it. I'd like to see some track time. Tires are a huge expense to me, if I spent 2 grand on wheels I wouldn't have much money to go to the track, hence..making my car very much useless except for looking cool to people who beat it to jdm magazines.

biggest and most noticeable difference is the TEXTURE of the wheel...thats the most obvious....Rotas have a glossy look to them whereas Spoons have the rough powdery look.....

thats what makes you KNOW for sure that they are either rota's or spoons? because you get that same look with dirty slips or spray painted slips. see-
