Yeah, it's a damned shame when someone feels that the only way out, is death. I can't imagine feeling that helpless. The thought has crossed my mind before, but only for a split second, mostly to see why someone would think of doing such a thing. I hope for the best for the rest of his family, and hope that he is now in a better place.

i think it's great to see the response from his forum brothers, im sure everyone feels some sort of connection with anyone online... a very new phenomenon too.

suicide can be an interesting topic of discussion sometimes, everyone has it pass through their mind as often as any other serious action or crime.

I like to think almost every death is unfortunate but not necessarily a tragedy, but this may be. surely this could have been avoided some how.

i feel sorry for him for the fact he was thinking about it for 6 years. that had to have been hell. a lot of questions run through my head like why this and why that, but i'll keep them to myself out of respect for him since i don't know the whole story. k i will say one thing, out of the six years, i wish someone would have caught on to the signs of that possibly happening and possibly saved a life.

agreed, obviously he was depressed, but somebody should have notified a counsellor or something.

all people seriously considering suicide tell at least one person, i'm sure he did as well. perhaps no one beleived him.

i cant imagine how his father feels, it has to be real tough

I've known a few people that have comitted suicide... I can't help but feel sorry for friends and family, but as far as the person that did it... I dunno, I just can't feel sorry for them. They made a totally selfish choice, u know? There is ALWAYS a better alternative. In one of my favorite books, the author is discussing the act, and mentions something very true... If someone is ready to just give up and die, what's to stop them from, instead of committing suicide, just getting up and leaving, maybe to just go accross the country to something, do anything to change the position they are in before they decide that this is the end, u know?

I agree transient, Its hard to feel sorry for someone that chose such a selfish act. My uncle commited suicide a little over a year ago and at first I was just so mad at him. Didnt understand why he would choose to do something like that when everyone around him loved him and enjoyed being around him. Now im at the point that im just glad I can remember the time I spent with him. There will never be a person in my life like him(always getting me in trouble) but the only thing I can do now is move on. I use it as a way to boost myself when im down or sad. I stop and look at the choice he mad and how it affect everyone around him and it makes me find ways to move on, plus it gives me a moment to remember someone import to me....

Counsellor's don't help, if you're depressed.... people aren't going to make you feel better. All those idiots are saying "I hope this is a joke".

That is so sad, and words can really explain what I feel. Consuelors don't always help, people that have been through hell and back and can prove are the real people that I believe can help someone who is depressed. I just wish I knew this guy, cause strange as it may seem there are some things I can relate to with him.

I was talking to a friend about why people commit suicide. Most of the time is the fact that they've been neglected by peers or their family members. So in a way, doing something like this just their cry for attention or a cry for help (..rather, "people could of helped"). Yea, some people are discouraged to do anything. Sometimes, it's just something as simple as the people around them not asking the simple question, "Are you okay?" helps a lot. It usually lets them know someone cares or is concerned.

As much as we'd like to reverse things like that in hopes of handling things differently. Just keep in mind, if a friend of your's seems to be down, depressed, or what have you, don't hesitate to ask, "Hey, are you okay?" and offer an ear to listen. Really, it means a lot to people when you do that. I even had some friends who've been through depression and I would usually offer an open ear of concern to help. Although it may seem ineffective at times, but it's much better than them thinking absolutely NO ONE cares.

hell, even my own friends would ask me if something's wrong and lent their ears to talk about whatever I felt. I mean, last year, I went through a really rough breakup, lost two jobs in one summer, and on top of that, people were talking shit about me behind my back. I went insane and I couldn't get my life back together until my friends took the time to listen to me whine and bitch. So, with that said, I got my old job back, I'm doing well in school, and whatever problems I've had before is starting to go away. Without pals who did care, I would have had a really hard time recovering from depression.

That is so sad. I can somewhat relate to how the clubsi members are feeling though. I used to play Yahoo Pool a lot, and there was one guy that was always my partner in the doubles games and we always played each other almost every night. He hadn't been on in over 2 weeks, and one night I saw he was on and I messaged him. It wasn't him though, it was his brother--Steve (my virtual pool partner) had killed himself the week before. He had given Rob (his brother) his passwords and asked him to tell me what had happened and to thank me for all the help I had given him (he was horrible in distress the entire time we played pool together--his 7-year long relationship ended, his mom died, and then his ex-girlfriend died in a car crash after leaving his house one night and then her mom was trying to sue him for her death since they had gotten into an argument right before she left his house).

Like a lot of those guys on clubsi, I didn't believe it until I saw the article.

It's so sad when something like this happens. You feel like you have helped, but when it happens, you wonder if there was something else you could have done. But in reality, you have done all you can do, you made the person feel so special in your eyes (or keystrokes) but what was missing in real life was more than conversations online could cure.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Windpassers friends and family.
