Cant hit over 10 psi of boost (newbie)

Hey guys my name is Brad and im a newbie to this website this topic may have been brought up many times befor if so im sorry. I recently bought a s13 coupe with a sr in it. I have a blitz blowoff valve and I put a manual boost controller on it. I just cant get it to hit more than 10 psi and after it hits 10 psi it slowly starts dropping till it gets around stock boost. The guy who did the swap said it might have the stock boost controller sitll on it but i cant seem to find it on the firewall. Am i looking in the right place or does anyone have any other ideas of what it might be. I have also checked the intercooler for boost leaks and cant find any. Thank You for any help you might have

follow the hose off of the wastegate see where it leads

another possibility is that you have a crap MBC that cannot bleed off air fast enough so therefor it is constatnly pushing past to the WG as airflow increases

What is the MBC ? Not familliar with that term. If it is the actuator is there any way to fix it or do i have to replace the whole thing>

MAN U ARE A NEWB! take the letters and figure out what it might mean m=manual, b=boost, and c= controller, its not that hard. and if u cant figure out if ur sr has a stock boost controller on it then u should not of bought the damn thing!

no you would have to replace the actuator

i have the same problem with my SR. homemade MBC from ace hardware However the boost goes from 10psi back down to 7 in upper 3rd gear, then from there on, 4th gear or 5 th gear, 7psi is as high as it'll go.

Pull the line to your wastegate and see if it will go over 10 psi

(i really hope you dont follow my advice)

with cheaper mbc's it will evetually level back out at the stock wastgate spring, which is 7psi, get a hks upgrade kit....works good!!

Hey 240 silvia man give me a break alright. I dont understand why it is that someone always has to jump in and try to make someone look stupid. I dont see you giving me any valuable info so whats your point in posting in this discussion anyways. I dont know much about the car yet and if i would have been the one to do the swap i could tell you where everything was but i didnt do the swap so thats why i ask for help.

oh god, give him a break, many turbo cars come with a solenoid to control boost, often mated to the ECU, just let the guy be and help him out. yes you know a lot, no you dont own the forum. if you want to be an ass post in OT. im new to 240s as well, so im sure ill ask a few dumb questions

you need to get HKS wastegate acuator, u can adjust it to run 11 psi constantly (make sure u have supportin mods tho !)

If you don't like being mocked than go somewhere else or god forbid serach before you post and just possibly learn the vocab so you dont look like a douche. as for WRX i have yet to see a useful post from you two step plan for respect on zilvia 1. search and learn 2. post educated questions

as for that last question just do it and learn

where under the hood is the wastegate because i never ever found that out...

ah true the search button is your friend. ps i guess the only useful tech post ive made was the one the wrx exhaust manifold, and the one i just made on factory boost control units. but then again i have 7 fucking posts. his first post was legitament anyhow.
