Driving without PS fluid?

Hey guys. My power steering hose has gone bad, and leaks pretty bad. I've been driving it for a while now without any fluid. I've been really busy with school, so I haven't had time to replace it. I plan to replace the hose, and the pump (if neccessary) when I go back home this summer, which is pretty far away. Do you guys think the pump can last another 1600 miles without any fluid?

take the belt off til you can fix it.

eternal must be a lucky guy, when I blew a PS line (rock under car) on my old s13, I killed the pump by driving it around too much w/o any fluid.

The pump will burn up! That pump uses fluid for cooling and lubrication! I've seen them comleatly seise up and fry belts! Do yourself a favor and take the belt off!
