s14 sr wiring prob - car not starting

Hey guys my car was starting fine a few days ago. Now i think some wiring came loose and when i turn the key i get nothing but power to the cabin- no crank no starter nothin; not sure if the fuel pump is going on but i think i hear it.

There is a yellow socket beneath my intake manifold to the right of the starter that had something connected to it but i think came loose. I attached some pics. Could someone please tell me what this yellow outlet is for? Also, i included some other pics of loose wiring around the starter area, what are these? Was the install incomplete?

Thanks

the bottom right of the pics shows the connections closer up

The yellow thing is the oil pressure sensor and the one wire plug your holding is what it connects to. The 8 pin plug is the important one, it controls the starter and alternator. It plugs in to a socket that is held to the frame on the car right next to the starter if you look at it from the bottom of the car on a lift. You might need to clean the plug and socket to get the dirt out so it clips in all the way.

In the first pic next to the 8 pin plug there is another small plug, if it has one wire then it connects to the solenoid on the starter, if it has two then find a place for it.

Thanks for the reply dude! that helps so much. For the oil pressure sensor, in the yellow outlet, there is a connector on the top and the bottom, which should i connect it to?

what is the importance of the small plug to the left of the 8 pin plug

is it ok to conclude that the 8 pin plug disconnected is my problem?

Thanks again!

I don't know about the other connector by the yellow one, but just stick the one wire with the grey hood on the yellow plug and that will work for sure. When your car was running was the oil light on?

The plug next to the 8 pin one, is what starts your car when you put the key is start, if it is a one wire plug.. If it's not then it's something else not to important. I just can't remember right now what it looks like.

"is it ok to conclude that the 8 pin plug disconnected is my problem?"
That is exactly the problem!

Hey,

I can't find any connector for the 8 pin wire! i jacked up my car and looked around teh chasis and couldn't find anything.

The plug next to it is one wire and there is a bare connector on the starter which has nothing on it. i'll take a pic in a bit.

Also, when i was driving before, the oil light was on!

where exactly is this plug?!

The 8pin plug is the old lower harness portion for the KA's OBD-II, goes to CPS and the rear O2, it's not needed.

The single pin plug on the black/yellow wire is the starter solenoid feed. Slide it on the spade terminal.

Try to turn the engine by hand to see if it turns over, because if the starter clicks then it has to turn, unless the motor is dead but very unlikely.
