Power Enterprise Boostguage/Controller Q's

Im looking into getting a Power Enterprise boost controller/guage. I like this idea a lot because it has both the controller (with the simple 'two knobs') and the guage all in once nice little 60mm guage. Of course i know one of the knobs (the one in front) is the knob for boost control. However the rear knob adjusts how quickly the turbo spools. I dont totally understand this, someone wanna clear it up? I dont understand why you wouldn't want the turbo to spool as fast as possible at all times (unless you're maybe just in traffic and want to save gas). However the knob is on the back of the guage, and requires you to remove the guage to adjust it, so that doesnt seem to convenient. Someone help me out here

I think the knob you're talking about adjusts the wastegate's responsiveness, not positive though.

I think with quicker spool comes greater chances of boost spikes.

It adjusts the duty cycle of the wastegate. Slower spool is more desireable for a smoother power band, less of a on off on the turbo since it would progressively spool compared to almost instantaneously. You can also turn the duty cycle down for getting gas mileage during a long highway drive. The spiking can also occur from spool happening incredibly fast mentioned by turtl631 above
