just got my gramlights... lol the japanese cant measure...

so I got my gramlights yesterday, (18 inch 57pro) and for shits and giggles I was measuring everything up to see the lip sizes and everything. so I measure the front total wheel width and oh my god! its a 10 inch wide front!!!?!! wow! what went wrong there?? and then I measure the back, and its an 11!!! lol!! that really trips me out. I hope I can stuff these things in there....
they should fit fine...

but as for offsets because everyone wants to know "how big is the dish..."

ok... here it goes. on a 18x"9" ("9") because thats what they say you are buying when its really a 10...

with a 17 offset you get a 70mm lip. in inches it is a 2, 3/4 inch lip...

The 18x"10" Zero Offset, you get a 107mm lip, and in inches its just shy of 4, 1/4 inch lip.

and for the new kids that are just getting into the game, these wheels were about 2100 shipped from japan. and they took three and a half months to get here.

if you all have any questions... you know what to do...

and if you reply negativly, you suck migrant farm workers cacks for quarters.

It's probably due to you making this thread, posting it in this section and giving it such a title.

Just because you have baller rims doesn't make you a baller. Stop talking like a faggot, and learn about wheels.

Harsh? It's the truth. Learn how wheel dimensions are measured. Why don't you try to measure the diameter of the wheel from lip to lip. You'd probably think they sent you a 19.5" wheel.

"the Japanese don't how to measure" part makes me laugh. You bought them and now you're measuring them. You ordered that wheel probably through Mackin. What does it say on the box for the sizes...?

hahaahahahaa

i've been through 3 sets of wheels and had to wait 90+ days for eash set i bought from Japan. So quit trying to front like your the only guy on the planet that had to wait. There are plenty of other people who have the patience as well

oh and you measured your wheels wrong, so dont blame it on the Japanese, blame it on yourself.

whoops my bad... I dont need to be crucified for not knowing how to measure wheels. you learn somthing every day.

thanks for the enlightenment.

I just thought it was kinda funny that the total width was 11 because I was always under the impression that thats how you measure a wheel. no need for all the hate...

hey it would be worse... I coulda bought 38 offset 7.5 inch front and rear lol...

by the way, These wheels are sick as fuck. and well worth the wait.

I started this thread because I figured some people would want to know the lip sizes on the 57 pros.

"crucified" hardly. Most people that were crucified were martyrs who died for an actual cause that has/had some sort of redeeming social value, your rims are NOT at that level, even if they ARE Gram Lights hehhehee

Seriously, what kind of response were u expecting when you trash talk about an entire race? Especially since most people on this board would LOVE to live in JDM-land... hell, several members go every year.

I'd made it a point not to say anything about your blatant racism (whether it was intended to be funny or not), especially since I AM 100% Japanese, AND I can use both standard and metric measure of rule just fucking fine thanks.

Did this thread get blown out of proportion? SURE!
But not any further than the original post was asinine, I think it was a pretty linear ignorance:flaming ratio... I HATE flaming, but it seems to me that the flames u got were pretty mild compared to how htings used to be around here. Best rule to follow... THINK before you post!

18x9 +17 is good but 18x10 +0 is just gonna look so fucking stupid hahahaha

i tried 17x9 +5 on the back of my car and the rim stuck out almost an inch from the body.

I guess if you have rear overfenders +40mm it would be ok but you'd still need to stretch to fit. Not to mention you're wasting a lot of wheel well, you can still go in a good 40mm towards the suspension.

I have seen all sorts of people running 18x10's with a 17 offset or a 10 offset, or anywhere between 20 and 10 and its really not that crazy. another 20mm in is only around 3/4 of an inch. it just takes a little more work to get them to fit. and you get 20mm more dish to the wheel with that much more hawtness :P

when I post pics of these fuckers on there after its all said and done....

fenders rolled and pulled and painted...

plus I like the flared look as opposed to the widebody. so relax yall.

I think I will go in forum hibernation until I have everything on the car...

ps my camera is missing and dad's camera is missing the cord to upload them to the computer.

man i hate you. 57pro's are like one of my top 3 or 4 wheels. but then i dont hate you cuz 98% of the time i can say i would never want those wheels (cept for that 2% where i dream of custom super widebody handlaid and bagged out of CF by.....MYSELF!....but in that case 10" wouldnt cut it....so yeah im revising that to 100% of the time).

still tho it will be nice to be able to look at your car whenever i want hehe yay for fresno luv.

still tho man 10" wheel with +12 offset is way out there already only hardcore people call that "flush". then again you got pull so that could cover up the +12 prolly, esp with your super narrow tires you prolly plan on running

look forward to watching your car progress man!

10"+0 would look cool with pulled fenders. I've seen S14s with those offsets and they don't look stupid with the fenders pulled/flared. Good job on getting good offsets.
