Upgrade Advice?

Guys, I have upgraded the following on my Redtop: (inothing is yet installed)

Parts I have

- Garrett GT2871R
- Greddy VSPL FMIC
- Greddy head gasket
- Greddy Valve springs
- Greddy RAS
- Koyo Radiator
- HKS SSQ BOV
- Nissan rocker arm (replacement for broken one)
- Nissan valve cover seal
- Nissan plug well oil seals
- Nissan 555cc injectors
- Nissan water pump
- Nissan Z32 MAF
- NGK plugs
- ARP head studs & bolts
- Walbro 255FP (installed)

I am still missing

- Clutch
- Coolants/fluids
- Hotpipe
- Something to control the new fuel

My questions are:

- Will I need new silicon hoses for the new turbo charger? I know my FMIC (VSPL) should have came with all the hoses but I know the old ones that go to the turbo will most likely not fit the GT28.

- Is the Apex SAFC2 all I need to program my car to work with the Z32 & new larger injectors? I don't know if I need the SAFC and its almost $300 so want to be sure that it is a must for the swap.

- I don't know where or who can make me a hot pipe for my car. Is there someone around town or some place online that has them for my set up? I still need to get the HKS SSQ BOV flange installed on it too.

- Are the old oil lines enough to feed this new larger turbo or should I replace them with nicer fittings and lines?

Sorry for the book but I just want to make sure nothing comes up during the swap. Thanks for all info.

I think you are gonna need some new silicone couplers for the intake side of your turbo. You should just be able to take it to any decent muffler shop to have something custom bent/welded.
The safc2 will work to run the new mafs and injectors, You may also consider getting a good rom tune(enthalpy or someone else), or emanage.
If it was me i would replace your stock oil/water lines with taka stainless steel lines. It makes installation a lot easier.

good luck with the install

Can those be ordered online or at any local shop around town? I have no idea what size fittings I need and how long of lines are needed.

if you can get the additional coin together I would buy a set of cams since you are taking the whole top end apart any way.

All cams are on back order so I just decided not to...

If I can find some cams, I would buy them.

ok dispite what they say about the turbo being "direct bolt on", you will need different lines I believe, at least you will need some type of restrictor. Hotpipe will need modification, intake will need modification, I just got quoted 400 dollars for the piping rework. You will need to modify the oil return, and get a longer oil tube, it must be rated for oil, also I havent been able to find a hose that doesnt kink, due to the steering hardware, It needs an S shape to clear without kinks. I dont know what else. oh oh, wastegate will need to be modified due to having to reclock the turbo. You will need to fab a bracket for it. btw for good power you will want cams, try to find them, they will be essential in moving to higher power numbers. for the lines, 170 dollars, www.Takamotorsports.com they have the set for the GT series turbos. comes with water in, and out, and oil in, right lenght, right connectors, direct bolt on. Remember when you clock the turbo, you want the oil in on top and return on bottom, as vertical as possible.

Uhh...thats a lot of modifications for a "direct bolt on" turbo. I should not have any kink issues since my car is not left hand drive. I can try and cough up some more $ for cams but right now oil lines and a hot pipe are my # priority. What the hell kind of hot pipe is going to run $400? Thats way too high. I have all other necessary piping. I will need to research what you noted above some more....

Thanks

- Carlos

well no the cost is more about custom fabrication, aluminum weldng blah blah. plus not just hotpipe, the intake side was needing modds too, anyway, I think I can have someone do this cheaper but who knows. Im going to look around. Its really not a ton of work, but just the fact that when I bought It, I figured id just slap it on and run off. well its not like that. and uhhh, I would reccomend something other than safc to controll it, like enthalpy tune, if you have money though a standalone would be nice, not really necessary though.
